The Benefit Bank of Mississippi

Housed in the Southern Regional Office of the Children's Defense Fund (CDF), The Benefit Bank of Mississippi uses a Coordinator to build a diverse network of organizations, including churches, social service and advocacy organizations and community centers to host The Benefit Bank in their facilities.

Thanks to the efforts of the CDF and partnering organizations such as Bolivar County Community Action Agency, Inc., Friends of Children of Mississippi, Jackson County Civic Action Committee, Mound Bayou Head Start Center, North Greenville Community Development Corporation and Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc. there are now over 70 locations throughout the state offering The Benefit Bank services.
CDF has a long history of providing a voice for all children, paying particular attention to the needs of poor and minority children and those with disabilities. CDF began in 1973 and is a private, nonprofit organization supported by foundation and corporate grants and individual donations.
