The Benefit Bank of Florida

The Benefit Bank of Florida became the very first state affiliate upon its launch in 2005. Funded through the National Council of Churches from the Knight Foundation and Ann E. Casey Foundation, The Benefit Bank of Florida was first introduced by the Human Service Coalition of Dade County in Miami.

The Benefit Bank is a key tool of the City of Miami’s Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) Offices where residents get help with city services and increase their income through the the Florida Prosperity Campaign
Today, The Benefit Bank is in use in over 60 locations directed by the City of Miami NET Offices, Prosperity Campaign of Hillsborough County, the Real$ense Property Campaign in Jacksonville. The United Way of Lake & Sumter Counties will soon join those listed.

In late Spring 2008, the TBB Florida Benefits module was released and counselors were then able to assist residents apply for food stamps, temporary cash assistance, and Medicaid using an electronic submition methods FL ACCESS.
